FordMurray congratulates senior counsel Aga Asbury on her recent appointment to the Maine Women’s Fund Board of Directors.
The Maine Women’s Fund is a nonprofit organization devoted to transforming the lives of women and girls in Maine through grantmaking, community engagement and support of other nonprofits. Aga has volunteered with the Maine Women’s Fund since March 2017 as a Community Grant Reviewer for the Fund’s Swift Social Justice Grants committee.
Aga said she is looking forward to continuing her work at the Maine Women’s Fund, especially as it pertains to helping immigrant populations in Maine.
“The Maine Women’s Fund is on the forefront of some of the most important issues of our time – including income disparity against women, risk of sexual assault and access to economic security. Unfortunately, these issues can impact our immigrant communities even more profoundly,” Aga said.
At FordMurray, Aga focuses on immigration law for individuals, including family sponsorship and fiancé petitions, naturalization applications, and investor visas. With a legal career focused on immigration and immigrant rights, Aga is prepared to make an immediate impact at the Maine Women’s Fund. “As an immigration attorney, I see firsthand the trials and tribulations of our immigrant community. I’m happy to have the opportunity to use my experience and skillset to help grow the impact and reach of the Maine Women’s Fund, for immigrant and nonimmigrant women in Maine,” Aga said.
